Please follow the steps below to enable your Wi-Fi router to connect with smart home devices. If you are not comfortable changing your Wi-Fi router settings, please consider seeking help from a technician.

Solution 1: enabling IoT access point setting

If your Wi-Fi router has a specific setting or feature designed to create a Network for IoT (Internet of Things or Smart Home) devices, this can greatly simplify the process of setting up a secure environment for your smart home gadgets. The instructions can vary depending on the router's brand and firmware, but here's a general guide to help you enable and configure this feature:

Step 1: Access Router Settings

Connect to your router’s network either via Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable.
Open a web browser and type in your router’s IP address (commonly 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, or another variant) into the address bar. The exact link or an IP address can be found on the back of your Wi-FI router.
Enter your admin username and password to log in to the router's admin panel (you might find these on the router itself if you haven't changed them).

Step 2: Locate IoT Network Setting

Navigate through the router’s admin interface to find settings related to IoT devices. This could be under sections like “Wireless,” “Advanced,” “Security,” or a dedicated “IoT Devices” section.
Look for a setting or feature labeled something like “IoT Network,” “Smart Home Network,” or “IoT Devices Management.” The exact terminology can vary.

Step 3: Enable and Configure IoT Network

Enable the IoT Network setting if it’s not already active.
Configure the network settings:
SSID (Network Name): Assign a name to the IoT network to differentiate it from your main network.
Security: Opt for the the compatible security protocol, preferably WPA2
Password: Create a strong, unique password for the IoT network.
Apply or Save your changes. Your router might reboot to apply the new settings.

Step 4: Connect Your Boldr Devices

Connect your Boldr devices to the new network using the SSID and password you've configured.

Solution 2: setting up 2.4 ghz network and security protocol

Step 1: Access Your Router’s Admin Page

Connect to your router’s network.
Open a web browser and enter your router’s IP address (commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into the address bar.
Log in with your admin username and password (you might find these on the router itself if you haven't changed them).

Step 2: Create a Guest Network for IoT Devices

Look for the “Guest Network”, "Multiple SSIDs" or "Blended Network" setting in your router’s admin interface. This is often found under sections like “Wireless,” “Advanced Settings,” or directly on the dashboard.

Configure the Guest / 2.4 ghz network settings.
SSID (Network Name): Give your IoT network a name that’s different from your main network.
Security: Choose WPA2.
Password: Set a strong, unique password for the network.
Save your settings. The router may reboot.
