How does the Klima work?
Klima controls your indoor HVAC head using infrared (IR) communication, the same technology used by your standard handheld remote.
Once set up, Klima sends IR commands to your indoor unit to adjust settings such as temperature, mode, and fan speed. For reliable performance, Klima must be placed or mounted within a clear line of sight of the indoor head.
Placement requirements:
Maximum range is approximately 30 feet
No physical obstructions between Klima and the indoor unit
Direct line of sight is required for infrared communication to work properly
If Klima cannot “see” the indoor head, commands may not be received.
How many indoor heads can be controlled with a single Klima?
Ideally, one Klima is recommended per indoor head. This ensures the most accurate control, reliable communication, and independent operation of each unit.
However, there is one exception:
If you have multiple indoor heads in the same room and:
Both indoor heads use an identical IR remote
Both units respond to the same IR commands
Klima is placed or mounted within line of sight of all indoor heads
Then a single Klima can control multiple indoor heads simultaneously.
Important considerations:
All indoor heads will receive the same commands at the same time
Individual control of each head will not be possible
Placement and line of sight becomes more critical to ensure all units receive the IR signal
Best practice recommendation
For optimal performance, flexibility, and precise control, Boldr strongly recommends using one Klima per indoor head, especially in multi-room or multi-zone setups.
